Step 6

How to Generate Free Targeted Traffic to Your Product Review Site

The product review strategy being posted in high authority sites can get you free targeted traffic alone from the search engines which can help you make affiliate sales. However, there are other techniques to scale this up…

How I wished I could just go directly to what is the best strategy that brings in high conversions and profits, but I do understand that everyone’s situation is different and what works for me might not work for everyone so I will present to you all proven strategies so that you will have a lot of options on which strategy to apply.

As you may already know, traffic is the key to having conversions. Even if you have the best product and website in the world if you cannot have traffic who will know all about your product, you will never make money.

Free Targeted Traffic Strategies. I will introduce to you free traffic generation strategies that you can use in order to promote your affiliate products. You have to understand that not all traffic or visitors that you refer will become customers or buyers so the key here in order to have conversions is to simply have lots of visitors to your affiliate offers. Another one is to really target those people who really need or want the affiliate product/service or offer you are promoting.

Strategy No. 1 - Targeted Traffic through Search Engines (Primary Source of Traffic)

1. What is a search engine?

A search engine is a website where you can search information. A Search Engine as defined from Encarta encyclopedia; is a software program that helps users find information stored on a personal computer, or a network of computers, such as the Internet. A user enters search terms, typically by typing a keyword or phrase, and the search engine retrieves a list of World Wide Web (WWW) sites, personal computer files, or documents, either by scanning the content stored on the computers or computer networks being searched or by parsing (analyzing) an index of their stored data. Search engines are most often used to find pages, files, news, images, and other data on the Web.

Some of the most popular Web search engines include:

a. www.google.com by Google Inc. – the number 1 search engine
b. www.msn.com or bing.com by Microsoft Network (MSN) Search, and
c. www.yahoo.com by Yahoo! Inc.

Each can be accessed from any Web browser, and each can be used for free. These engines operate by building—and regularly updating—an enormous index of Web pages and files. This is done with the help of a Web crawler, or spider, a kind of automated browser that perpetually trolls the Web, retrieving each page it finds. Pages are then indexed according to the words they contain, with special treatment given to words in titles and other headers. When a user inputs a query, the search engine then scans the index and retrieves a list of pages that seem to best fit what the user is looking for.

We have mentioned before that many people don’t buy from a sales page on the first visit and most of the time, they search for other people’s experiences about the product so they can finally decide if the product is worth it. These people are on the verge of buying the product but they want to hear from other people first through product reviews before buying. So what they do is search online through the search engines. This is where your review site comes in. You want to make sure that when these people search for product reviews on a product you are promoting, your review site will appear in the top Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs).

The higher your review site rank in the SERPs, the more targeted traffic will visit your site and the more sales you can generate through your affiliate links. Aim to be on the top 5 and maintain your position in there. This is the position where you can get more sales compared to top six to ten positions.

Getting your site rank high in the SERPs is done using Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies. Search engines are the number one way that internet users find websites. In most cases, a listing in a search engine is free. So, it's no surprise that SEO should be your first priority when marketing your review site. Proper search engine optimization can bring you hundreds - possibly thousands - of visitors every day, and at no cost to you. Though, it is not easy to get a top listing - it could take months of tweaking and waiting - but it is certainly worth it.
